SYNOPSIS
August 8, 2013 is the 50th anniversary of the greatest train robbery of all time. The three-part TV film based on it, Die Gentlemen bitten zur Kasse starring Horst Tappert (“Derrick”) in the lead role, was a huge hit and still enjoys cult status today. We tell the true story of the legendary coup, including newly recorded interviews with those involved, parallel to the most exciting scenes in the film—a gangster epic that stretches from the swinging sixties to the current banking crisis.
